A Few Things About Me
My name is Caroline Devereaux; I am an artist and illustrator in Baltimore, Maryland. I work mainly in pen and ink, but when I feel like making a mess, I also use watercolor and oil paint.
I am driven by a passion for craftsmanship. In other words, I have a desire for focused, painstaking work in an age when we rarely slow down and admire details. I love to see evidence of a human hand in artwork.
After receiving classical training in traditional media, I went on to earn a degree in video production. Later, I traded in the life of a freelance producer for non-profit management and bought an old house to fix up. Recently, I've taken another joyful career leap: working full-time as an artist (and still renovating the old house, of course!) It's all very blog-worthy, I assure you.
I adore animals, especially my two giant cats and three tiny chickens. I also enjoy knitting things that don't necessarily have to fit, and I live to travel.
