Commission a piece
Partner with Cat and Milk Studio for your next creative project. Caroline Devereaux creates portraits of pets, people, and also paints and draws houses and other keepsakes.
Here are a few things I can help you preserve through art: family photos, a childhood home, a pet, the view from your hotel room on your honeymoon, a scene from your favorite Dickens novel...?
Images can be delivered framed, un-framed, as notecards, etc.
How It Works
STEP 1. Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include:
- your name
- phone number
- upload a high-resolution image file with your subject (no larger than 5 MB)
- and of course, a description of your desired project... size, materials, medium, budget, etc.
STEP 2. Discuss project specifics I will contact you to get the clearest possible picture of what you have in mind. At this stage, we will chat about price and and other finishing options, like framing, printed note cards, etc.
STEP 3. Down payment You will receive an invoice via email for 50% of the total price. You can pay online (Paypal) or mail a check. See more about my payment policy below.
STEP 4. Collaborate Unless other arrangements are made, I email clients 3 times during the art-making process: to send a rough draft or sketch, a final draft, and finally, the finished product. At any of these stages, you are welcome to join me in the creative process: suggestions about composition, color palette, any tweaks to make the image more "you."
STEP 5. Completed! Receive a finished piece of art and send the final 50% payment.
Get an idea of my rates for single custom pieces*:
*The above prices are estimates only, and do not include taxes, shipping, or finishing of any kind!
Prices are based on the medium and level of complexity (labor). For example, an 18x24" drawing of a single dog will be less costly than, say, a family of eight. A sliding scale or pro-bono work is available for approved clients/projects.
A 50% down payment is required before work can begin, and the remaining balance is due within 30 days of delivery of completed artwork. Changes made by the client (after approval of second draft) will be charged by the hour at a pre-negotiated rate. You will receive invoices for payments via email; I can accept payments through Paypal or you are welcome to mail a check.
Unless otherwise negotiated, all artwork, designs, or portions thereof be used by the artist for self-promotional purposes or as conceptual basis for future works. Unless otherwise agreed, rights to the artwork will remain the sole property of the artist. All artwork submitted is intended for use only as originally specified. Further use of artwork must be expressly approved by the artist; nonexclusive rights may be purchased from the artist.
